The Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL are officially slated to be announced at the October 9th Google event. But why even bother? The Pixel 3 has got to be the most leaked smartphone on record and today it got even better. The world got its first unofficial first look at the Google Pixel 3 XL from Engadget Hong Kong. That’s right, the real Pixel 3 XL on video days before Google even announces it.

According to Engadget, there are Hong Kong retailers already selling the device in their shops. Engadget editor Richard Lai happened to find one such retailer and did a first look video you can watch below. The really quick specs run shows it has a Snapdragon 845 and 4GB of RAM with a healthy 3,732mAh battery. The camera on the rear is a 12.2-megapixel lens while the rear camera houses an 8-megapixel lens. Here’s the complete first look from Richard Lai.

So there you have it. It looks like that deep notch is indeed going to exist. There was a glimmer of hope a few weeks ago when it was said that Google may have been trolling the internet by orchestrating fake leaks. That later came into question but many still held on to the possibility. So for those who had hoped the giant notch wouldn’t come to be. You’re going to be disappointed. One thing I did notice is the chin is still pretty large here. Yes, there is a front firing speaker down there but I think many would have liked to see that chin slimmed down.
