Hulu 4K content now available on Xbox with more devices to follow

Hulu’s 4K content includes mostly originals such as The Handmaid’s Tale or Catch-22 but they tend to be more of Hulu’s bigger shows that offer 4K availability.

Hulu is one of Netflix’s main competitors and while Netflix has more users and 4K content, Hulu does offer 4K shows and movies (albeit a select few), but they can only be watched on Apple TV 4K and Chromecast Ultra streaming devices.

Hulu now announcing that the higher definition content will be available on Xbox consoles is a big step up for the company since again, only Apple TV 4K and Chromecast Ultra were previously supported. Hulu has also noted that Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick and WebOS are currently in the works along with more devices being supported at a later time.

Currently, the streaming company does not have any extra costs to upgrade to watch 4K content unlike its other rivals out there like Netflix that will cost you US$15.99 per month versus US$11.99 (no ads) for Hulu. Sure, Netflix may be the better option for those who enjoy watching higher resolution content but if you’re looking to save money and don’t mind watching a limited amount of 4K content, then Hulu is a viable option.

Considering Disney+ has a bundle with Hulu (ads supported) and ESPN+, 4K will also be available at no charge, so that’ll boost Hulu’s numbers even more and will most likely have them push out more 4K shows and movies.
