A Last Chance for Australian Sporting Glory

Sydney, New South Wales (PRWEB) July 06, 2012

Most Australians have always dreamed of donning the green n gold war paint and serving this proud nation. Now they can.

Stubbies will be put down, couches around the country vacated and thongs slipped back on because the Australian dodgeball team is offering out one wildcard pick to the nation.

This is every armchair athletes sporting fantasy. However whilst the competition may be fierce, the location will be world class. The team will venture deep into enemy territory to Las Vegas for the 2012 World Dodgeball Championships! No non American team has ever won the championships although our home grown talent will give it their best.

The team, called The Emus so far includes 67 year old Peter Blue Burke, a 67 year old ex marbles champion, Michael Maverick Mead, a Lawyer and Burt Sigsworth, an aviation consultant. The team has been selected but Harvey Norman has a wild card up their sleeve in order to make sure that one deserving Australian also boards the plane to Vegas.

To paraphrase the great Winston Churchill, Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your countrys dodgeball team!

Entry is via a Dodgeball app on the Harvey Norman Facebook Page and it is being promoted via innovative Facebook advertising.

Harvey Norman is a large Australian-based retailer of home appliances, electrical, camera, computer, furniture, entertainment and bedding goods. It operates as a franchise and the main brand owned by Harvey Norman Holdings Limited.
